Care Information

While handmade pottery is very durable, there are a few differences in how to best care for your piece in order to keep your pot looking its best as it ages over time.

  • Pots are dishwasher safe - although I recommend handwashing for longevity, as it is a gentler process.

  • Pots are microwave safe - as long as there is no metal luster (gold or white gold) on the surface.

  • Avoid extremely rapid temperature changes such as stovetops, open flames, or placing a hot pot in cold water/freezer etc.

  • Use a coaster or hot pad to prevent heat stains or water rings on furniture.

  • Un-glazed areas (commonly the bottom of pots) can stain over time, particularly if the clay body is light such as white stoneware or porcelain. This is part of the character of the clay. You can avoid this by not letting the pot sit in dark liquids such as red wine or coffee, dish water, food, or any other highly pigmented substance.
